In layman's terms - What are cookies? Every time you visit a website, a little text file or data file is downloaded onto your computer. If you visit that site again, it knows you’ve been there before and tailors your experience based on your past experience.
For example, when you log in to amazon and search for blenders, that information gets stored. The next time you visit amazon, you’ll notice it has a recently viewed items on the page and you might see the blenders you looked at before. Same thing goes for if you are looking for a certain dog food. Next time you go onto a site, you’ll see ads for dog food pop up. You can delete cookies if you go to your browser and search on how to delete cookies. If you turn cookies off, you’ll notice some sites won’t function properly. The cookie isn’t there to hurt you, it was developed to make your experience better.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.
Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to thegeneticchef.com.
