I know what you’re thinking…another green smoothie. There are so many combinations to make a green smoothie. The possibilities are endless. This one – introduced to me by my daughter – is incredibly simple to prepare and very refreshing. You might consider this the perfect green smoothie for beginners.
The ingredients are:
- Baby spinach
That’s it. No, I’m not kidding.
Just throw everything in your blender (affiliate link) and blend until smooth.
The outcome is a beautiful rich green smoothie that’s sweetened only by the natural sugar of the fruit, which makes you forget there’s spinach in the smoothie. I buy a big bunch of bananas and the moment they get spotty, I store them in the freezer. Using frozen bananas in smoothies makes them taste that much better.
I’ll be honest, the first time Lena made it for me, I was hesitant. I told her I’d pass. With her continued persistence, I gave it a go. I mean it’s only fair since I make her try my concoctions. She made a believer out of me.

A simple, beginner friendly, green smoothie that's refreshing and delicious. It only takes 2 minutes to prepare with just 4 ingredients.
- 2 cups cold filtered water*
- 2 cups baby spinach Packed
- 1 medium banana
- 1 pear Quartered and cored
Place all the ingredients in order listed into blender and blend for 30 seconds or until smooth.
*If you want a thicker smoothie, use 1 cup of water.
